Our Story
Over the Years
2012
Founded
Rick Waters founded Wisecrum in 2012 as a very small (meaning, just Rick) consulting company. Focused on Agile coaching and training, learning from his mistakes was key to success!
2014
On the Air
In November, Rick launched the Agile Chicago Style Podcast. He doesn’t publish episodes that often, but it is still an active source of quality Agile materials.
2016
We’re International!
In 2016, Rick taught his first class outside of the United States. A small group of packaged food prototypers needed Agile Training in Italy. Rick was there!
2017
Certifiable
Mike Beedle (RIP) entrusted Rick to teach Enterprise Scrum, and certify students to become Certified Business Agilty Coaches, and Certified Software Scaling Coaches.
2018
Celebration!
Rick became a Certified Scrum Trainer, for Scrum Alliance, in 2018. This remains one of the top achievements of his life.
2019 - 2020
Double Double
During 2019 and the beginning of 2020, Wisecrum Associates, LLC grew continually, and even added Marcelo Lopez to our ranks. This is setting the bar high for a wonderful future! In fact, Rick and Marcelo did something no other Scrum Trainers have ever done, become certified coaches in the DRiV, a psychometric report.
2021
Pandemic Pandemonium
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we focused on our abilities as trainers and coaches. We focused on how to provide even more value while not being in-person. We became the first Agile-focused company to form a partnership with Leadership Worth Following, the inventors of DRiV.
